Abstract

Rapid technological change and increasing organizational complexity have transformed modern program management. Programs now operate across digital ecosystems that generate large data sets while requiring faster decision-making under uncertain conditions. Traditional governance structures and manual reporting systems often struggle to convert these amounts of data into timely insights which limits program leaders’ ability to respond proactively. The authors examine how artificial intelligence and machine learning can support program managers in navigating complex environments in this paper. Using structured conceptual frameworks and literature review, the capabilities of AI were analyzed through Brown’s Chaos to Clarity concept. The author contribute to program management literature by mapping AI-enabled tools to the business, program, and project levels, demonstrating how predictive analytics and automation enhance visibility, coordination, and decision-making while augmenting rather than replacing human leadership.
